These sounds were sampled up at Kinky studios in Edinburgh. A good selection of straight drum samples, as well as more unusual sounds like the rattle and some Latin percussion from claves, cowbells and bongoes.

The outcome of walking around my neighborhood at 4am hitting things like bus shelters, manholes and rubbish bags. Heavy and quite experimental samples were the outcome. Includes one of my favorite claps you can hear ricocheting off buildings, as well as background of bird song that gives the samples a real ambience.

Inspired by Demus, a musician friend, the 'recipe' for this kit is a secret but involves hitting various household objects that have been prepared in one way or another. Most samples have a tight, light quality to them that I think would work well with R&B and soul.

Just what it says. I went to a scrapyard armed with a portable dat, 2 microphones and a selection of sticks and mallets and sampled the result. Quite industrial, but includes some amazing one off events, like the rust falling after hitting the inside of an old cement truck.

Yet more experimental and environmental sounds, this time mostly at my mother-in-law's house in Villa de Ayala, Mexico. The concrete bathroom and hard surfaced rooms add a hard, close ambience to the sounds, which include Mexican bean pods and home made claves along with plastic tubs and metal buckets.

A bit of a mixture of outdoor industrial object samples and more traditional studio recorded drums. The samples of the inside of large metal pipes are mad. This kit also includes some real congas and drum kit.
