Fantastic old dual drum
trigger, very synthetic sounding, bright and grainy.
Capable of producing some crazy noises. This one
is the clown of the kits, always fooling around
and making people laugh.

One of the many 'accompaniment'
preset rhythm boxes. Full of bosa nova and teen
beat groves, this machine rises above most thanks
to the number and quality of different blips and
splats it can produce. To top it off, some of
the sounds are easily adjusted, producing longer
808 style kicks that are quite weighty.

One of the custom Kinloch
Electro Acoustics made Moog filter devices, these
sounds were made by plugging in an old Simmons
pad into the filter, setting the resonance up
high, and sampling the outcome. A good variety
of sounds, from bassy kicks to sharp tones.

This is a five input
drum trigger unit. White noise everything, the
sounds are nonetheless useful.

One of the most basic
drum machines ever made, the DR-55 still managed
to have a unique character, with very short and
clicky sounds. Some people prefer the kick on
this to the 606 for electronic beats.

Single drum trigger box,
this was designed to clamp onto the rim of a tom
or snare and be triggered by the vibration when
the drum was hit. Simple percussive synthesiser
produces clangy metallic sounds, boomy kicks and
the dreaded disco tom sound.

Another 'accompaniment'
style rhythm boxes, a little more aggressive than
the Selmer but with a more limited range of sounds.
To get some variation, the kicks are recorded
clean, with a little distortion and finally with
a lot. This machine lent its name to the big beat
outfit Bentley Rhythm Ace.

A true, inbuilt rhythm
machine in a cheep Italian home keyboard. Horrible
amount of noise, with the weedy sounds just about
poking above the sea of hiss. Lovely.
